Learn About the Initiative
Following in the footsteps of its prescient founders, the University of Chicago launched the Chicago Initiative in the spring of 2002. This bold $2 billion capital campaign will enable the University to continue to pursue groundbreaking knowledge that will shape the advancements of the twenty-first century. Sharing a unified vision, all of the schools, divisions, and units of the University have planned this historic initiative together.
At the core of the Chicago Initiative is an institutional investment in human capital. Comprised of bold, innovative thinkers, students and faculty alike, Chicago’s human capital makes it one of the greatest intellectual communities on the planet and distinguishes it as a world treasure among research universities. By investing in human capital, the campaign will magnify Chicago’s capacity to produce knowledge and, ultimately, shape the future.
