Austan Goolsbee

Robert P. Gwinn Professor of Economics, Graduate School of Business

The University of Chicago community is unlike anywhere else in the world. I hope that everyone at the University recognizes this, and does everything they can to make it sustainable in the future.

Professor Goolsbee has taught at the University for 11 years. Together with his wife, Robin Winters Goolsbee, he recently made a gift in support of the Lab Schools.

Sheila Hohmann

Asssociate Dean for Administration, Physical Sciences Division

Working in the Dean’s office, I realized how difficult it is to raise funds that can be used for immediate needs, so I decided to make a gift to help meet those needs. If you are proud of your work and believe in the mission of the University, then you should help support it by making a gift. I believe that what we discover at Chicago helps shape the future.

Ms. Hohmann has worked at the University of Chicago for 31 years and has been making gifts to her division using payroll deduction for over a decade.

David Bevington

Phyllis Horton Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus, Department of English

It’s hard to think of a better choice than to make a gift to the University of Chicago. Our particular choice was to the Press, but any gift to the University is a vote of confidence the important work of this institution.

Professor Bevington taught Shakespeare in Chicago’s English department for 38 years, while his wife, Peggy Bevington, was a teacher at Lab School for 29 years. On the occasion of their retirement, the Bevingtons made a gift to the University of Chicago Press.

Paulette Triplett

Assistant Director of Gift Services, Office of Development and Alumni Relations

The University has given me so much throughout the years that I wanted to give something back. Working in gift services, I know that every gift counts. Small gifts add up to large gifts.

Ms. Triplett has worked at the University of Chicago for 25 years. She recently made a gift to the Urban Education Initiative in support of the Summer Enrichment Program for Chicago Public Schools students. Additionally, she has made a pledge to the Library in honor of her mother, and a pledge to diabetes research in the Biological Sciences Division in honor of her father.
