Directing Your Gift
Gifts can be directed to any school, area, or program of the University. Many faculty and staff members give to areas of the University that match their personal interests, including the Laboratory Schools, the Smart Museum, the Oriental Institute, or their own departments.
Undesignated gifts will be directed to the University of Chicago Central Annual Fund. Gifts made to this fund have enormous impact on the well-being of the University. Annual gifts fortify those programs of central importance to the University’s fundamental mission of teaching and learning, including undergraduate financial aid, graduate scholarships and fellowships, faculty support, student internships, and study abroad programs. In this way, annual gifts help to supplement the University’s endowment and allow the University to stay competitive with peer institutions. By making an annual gift, you provide the University with the greatest flexibility in support of its academic mission.
Any gift made to any area of the University during the Chicago Initiative counts toward the campaign goal. All gifts are tax deductible.
